The Starry Plough

Established in 1973 by Irish political activists raising funds for prisoners of conscience, the Starry Plough takes its name from the famous flag of the Irish labor movement. This Berkeley pub at 3101 Shattuck Avenue programs live music seven nights a week, from its long-running Sunday afternoon traditional Irish session to open mic Tuesdays, Monday night ceili dancing, and touring rock, punk, and folk acts on weekends. The kitchen serves solid pub food alongside a deep selection of local and international craft beers.
