Opened Halloween 2009 in a historic 19th-century building at 508 Frenchmen Street, The Maison evolved from earlier incarnations as The Faubourg Center in the 1990s, Ray's Boom Boom Room, and La Maison de la Musique. This three-story venue features three stages with nightly live jazz, brass, funk, Latin, and DJ performances — all with no cover charge. The front stage hosts popular New Orleans jazz and brass bands, while the backstage books bigger nationally touring acts. The Maison also serves a Creole menu with jazz brunches, making it a cornerstone of the Frenchmen Street music scene in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood.
