3000 capacity
Designed by architect Timothy L. Pflueger and opened on December 16, 1931, the Paramount Theatre is a 3,040-seat Art Deco masterpiece on Broadway in downtown Oakland. When it debuted, it was the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977, the building's ornate lobby, sculpted facades, and original murals remain intact after a careful 1970s restoration. Today the Paramount is home to the Oakland Symphony and Oakland Ballet while hosting concerts by artists from Bob Marley and Bruce Springsteen to contemporary R&B and gospel acts, along with classic film screenings from Hollywood's golden era.
