Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is an 8,500-capacity arena in the Civic Center, operated by Another Planet Entertainment and named after the legendary promoter. The 1915 building has hosted everything from political conventions to basketball games, but today it functions primarily as a concert venue for major tours and special events. The main floor is general admission standing for most shows, with balcony seating providing elevated views. The scale allows for production that smaller venues can't accommodate. The Civic Center location provides transit access but limited parking. For arena-scale shows in San Francisco proper, Bill Graham is often the venue of choice, though the cavernous space works better for some acts than others.
