Descend the stairs from Mason Street into San Francisco's flagship blues club, a basement room where Southern cooking meets soulful music just a block from Union Square. Founded in 1995 by Mississippi-born chef Regina Charboneau, Biscuits and Blues has earned recognition as the Bay Area's top blues venue, winning awards from both the Blues Foundation and Bay Area Blues Society. After closing due to flood damage and pandemic challenges, the club reopened in 2024 under owner Steven Suen's stewardship. The intimate space puts every seat close to the action, whether you're at cabaret tables near the stage, in the side booths, or at the bar. The menu honors its namesake with fried chicken, catfish, gumbo, and Creole jambalaya alongside those famous biscuits. Two shows nightly bring touring and regional blues acts representing every style from Delta and Chicago to boogie-woogie and brass.
