Three Muses

Three Muses opened in 2010 at 536 Frenchmen Street as one of the first venues on the strip to pair chef-driven food with nightly live music, the vision of proprietor Sophie Lee and co-founders Daniel Esses and Christopher Starnes. The intimate, smoke-free room seats a small crowd at tables where tapas-style plates and craft cocktails arrive alongside sets of jazz, swing, and gypsy music performed just feet away. The kitchen has evolved to incorporate Korean-inspired dishes alongside its original eclectic small-plate menu, reflecting Lee's culinary range. Two shows run nightly Wednesday through Sunday, and the lack of a cover charge keeps the barrier low for walk-ins exploring Frenchmen Street. Three Muses occupies a distinct niche on the block -- less a bar with music than a restaurant where the performance is inseparable from the meal.
