Regency Ballroom

The Regency Ballroom occupies the former Scottish Rite Temple, a 1909 building on Van Ness Avenue with 35-foot ceilings and 22 crystal chandeliers. The main floor is general admission standing, with a balcony providing elevated views of the stage. Capacity is approximately 1,400. The architecture is stunning: the building was designed for formal gatherings and retains that grandeur despite decades of rock shows. AEG operates the venue, booking national touring acts across rock, indie, electronic, and hip-hop. The sound system fills the room well, though the high ceilings create some acoustic challenges. There's no seating on the main floor, so arrive early if you want to be close to the stage. For visually impressive shows in a historic setting, the Regency delivers an experience you won't find in modern venues.
